How to add non HP disks to VA7400

Greetings,

I have VA7400 with DS2405 disk array.
Also I have 10 x 73Gb non HP FC disks.
Now these disks have 512 bytes sector size.

How can I add these disks to disk array?

Hi,
Upto my knowledge you should "never" try this. Use FC disks meant for VA from HP only.

I have all these eqipment from previous projects and looking for the cheapest way to use it.

Could these disks work with DS2405 as JBOD?

The disks you have is HP disk? If HP then what is the part number?

VA7400/DS2405 supported 73GB disks are,
A7288-69001 73GB 15K (A7288A)
A6194-69002 73GB 10K (A6194A, A6231A)

check in

I doubt any other disk would work.

Hello

Adding a non HP disk (even its the same model) could work but you'll end up in a non supported configuration (never try this). It will be difficult getting support when your config isnt supported anymore.

Be carefull with these kind of actions.
