Re: How to connect the VA7110 after installing new OS?
1, Do you have any Ignite backup tape? if Yes pls recover OS from it.
2, If ignite tape is not available, try to find any vgmap (out put of vgexport command). Reistall fresh OS and use vgimport to import all vg configuration!.
3, if Both of them are not availble do as following:
1) Create a new volume group:
mkdir /dev/vgnew
mknod /dev/vgnew/group c 64 0x020000
2) Import the disks into the new volume group.
vgimport /dev/vgnew /dev/dsk/c5t0d7
4) Activate the new volume group.
vgchange -a y /dev/vgnew
5) Mount the associated LVols.
mkdir /snap/lvol1
mount /dev/vgnewlvol1 /snap/lvol1

It is possible to login the OS.
Now, vgexport command available.
But, where is restore the LUN information?
