How to downgrade firmware for FATA 1TB Disk drive

Dear all,

We have a issue that I'm not sure and I need for ur suggestion.

We have a EVA4400 storage system with a FATA Diskgroup. All disk in which have firmware is HP06. Unfortunately, a disk in this group came failure and we need to replace.
We replaced a failed disk drive by a new. But, the firmware's replaced new disk drive is HP07(I have looked up in HP document and sure that EVA4400 support HP07 firmware.
If we can mix disk drive into a diskgroup with different firmware?
Can I downgrade this firmware of disk drive in HP06

We really need ur help and suggest to issue this problem.

Thank u for ur suggest and attentions.
Thx so much

The right way is to upgrade all disks to HP07 firmware.

"If we can mix disk drive into a diskgroup with different firmware?"

Yes.

"Can I downgrade this firmware of disk drive
in HP06"

The ideal situation would be for you to do as suggested above. I would not specifically downgrade a disk firmware but rather upgrade the other disks if you are that worried.

Downgrade is possible, but better upgrade all to the current version.
Even a mixed situation is IMHO better than a downgrade.

Hope this helps!

Consider an online upgrade while the array is not fully busy.

Hope this helps!
