How to effectively monitor an EVA4400

I heard of HP Remote Support Pack (RSP, which can be deployed to send alerts from the EVA to HP. I read that it is also free. Could somebody give me a brief about how I can use this tool to monitor my EVA ?

I would suggest Insight remote support (standard or advanced). See the appropriate websites and manuals for detailed information. In case of problems this framework opens directly a support case at HP.
