How to expan the size of LUN on XP12000?

I don't want to add a extra ldev as LUSE, but wanted to expan the ldev itself. Do I have to take the lun offline?

Thanks,

Re: How to expan the size of LUN on XP12000?

Hi,
the firmware 500 is not able to do so (only LUSE - but then it is not striped, but only spanned), but you can nicely expand the volume on the host side if you use the LVM.

At XP this is a part of the Thin Provisioning feature available at XP24000 firmware 600

to mention also the array group concatenation with interleaving as an option to have more then 4 and 8 physical disks in the array group - 14D+2P or even 28D+4P, but as I have said, it has to be concatenated and formatted at the begining (disk system initialization) and it means that you have more spindles in the disk array (for the OSes which dont have LVM), buth you cannot expand the existing LDEV with additional LDEV (only LUSE) neither in this case... (on the XP side)
