How to replace a faulty disk on FC60 ?

How to replace a faulty disk on FC60 ?

Hello

I have 4 disks in RAID 5 and running stm i have the following output :

==============================================
LUN - 0
Status - Deagraded-- 1
Disks - 4
.
.
.

DISKS:

LUN 0:
3,0 Flt--35
.
.
.

SUMMARY:

LUN 0, Non-optimal Status
LUN 0, cache settings are non optimal
LUN 1, cache settings are non optimal
LUN 2, cache settings are non optimal
LUN 3, cache settings are non optimal
LUN 4, cache settings are non optimal
Disk (3,0), Non-optimal Status

=============================================

The questions are:

1)Do I need to do anything other than just remove the faulty disk and replace it with a good one ?

2) What does it mean "cache settings are non optimal" ?

Thanks for your help

Re: How to replace a faulty disk on FC60 ?

If there's a redundancy loss within FC60 it turns off write cache - that's why you have message about non-optimal cahce status.
If you have disk fauly and it has yellow led lit you can pull out this disk and insert new one. Make sure you have latest FC60 firmware HP11 (for hpux). If you'll have any problems and new disk will not be included/initialized let me know
