How to setup MSA30 on HP-UX

Good day Gurus!

I would like to seek assistance in setting up 2 X MSA30 Dual Bus disk enclosures on an RP4440.

The procedures I need are the following:
1. Cabling
2. RAID setup and sparing
3. Other things I need to setup either on the storage or the server to obtain optimal performance from my storage.

TIA!

Do you have a smartarray controller or just "plain" SCSI controllers?
This is important for the next steps.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

If this is "plain" SCSI, do you want to mirror the disks? How many disks are there?

Hope this helps!

Re: How to setup MSA30 on HP-UX

Connect each SCSI controller to a connector of the DB module. Put 4 disks in the left half of the MSA, 4 in the right half.

Start your server and you will find new device files for the disks.

Use this documentation to create a volume group and logical volumes and a mirror:

Come back, if you have more questions.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
