Re: Hp smart array b110i not recognize Seagate 3tb
Hi,
The HP Smart Array B110i does not support greater than 2TB hard drive that why 3TB is not recognized.
I advise you to use HP hard drives not Seagate.
Please see the below link..

Re: Hp smart array b110i not recognize Seagate 3tb
Hi, I have the same situation , purchased a server with this controller, and two 3TB disks. Any idea if it is possible to do something to the controller, that it starts support disks of 3Tb ?
If it will have to be replacement ,what controller model will support 3Tb, that would be compatible with server
HP ProLiant DL160 Generation 6 ?
Thank you,

Re: Hp smart array b110i not recognize Seagate 3tb
Hello @Joepkke
According to the HP ProLiant DL160 Gen6 QucikSpecs page 18 HP Smart Array P410/256 2-ports Int PCIe x8 SAS Controller (462862-B21) is compatible with the HP ProLiant DL160Gen6. According to page 13 of the HP Smart Array P410 Controller QuickSpecs says this controller is compatible up to 4TB drives.
I hope this information is helpful and please let me know if you would like to take advantage of talking to an HP Server Specialist to see if there may be any other options.

Re: Hp smart array b110i not recognize Seagate 3tb
I'm surprised to see that the controller only supports 2TB drives.
I have 6 HP DL160g6 servers with Smart Array B110i controllers. Each of them has multiple 8TB WD drives. I inherited a rack of old equipment last year and haven't upgraded firmware on any of these machines. Installing some new 8TB drives was as simple as in any other server... they all just worked fine right away.
