Initial Configuration of VA7110

Hi All,

We have procured one VA7110 (HP VA7110 Disk Array with 15 x 146 GB drives ) Array. Due to some reasons i cant involve HP CS support in this. So can any one guide me how to configure the same. The server connected in rp4440. We are planning Raid 1 on the array. Can any one help me in this. Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

You have to install CV-SDM in the hp-ux host (1.07 or above). Then run the arm commands to admin.

Inititally you can use the serial interface to format the array and create lun-0 (lun0 is a must, create a small lun and leave it unconfigured)

VA is very simple, you don't need to mention host/presentation. All luns are accesible by all servers! Remember to mention the host type as hp-ux when creating the lun.
