Initialisation of Logical Drives fails
Because of some urgent storage needs we are trying to install the following configuration:
HP NetServer E 40
with HP NetRAID-1Si
HP NetServer Storage System/6
with several 9GB IBM Ultrastar HDDs
We can configure the Logical Drives via the NetRaid Express Tools and the NetRaid Assistant. However when trying to initialize the initialization starts but never comes to an end. The progress bar remains at 0%. What did we forget to configure?

Re: Initialisation of Logical Drives fails
We set the SCSI transfer rate to "FAST" already(No Ultra). Is that what you mean? But it is still not working. We can format the physical drives but still we cannot initialize the logical drives.

Re: Initialisation of Logical Drives fails
Hadi,
You cannot configure Logical Drives using HP's NetRAID controller and non-HP drives. Drives for use with NetRAID controllers that come from HP are manufactured by other companies, but HP puts special firmware on them. NetRAID contollers will configure Logical Drives with RAID only on HDDs which have this firmware.
I'm afraid you'll be able to use IBM HDDs only as JBOD.
