Hell I have just received an A5856A ( RAID 4Si, PCI 4 port Ultra2 SCSI RAID ) card.

Does anyone have any tips on installation and configuration of this card?

Richard,

It's fairly easy, just not too intuitive. Use irm to set it up. Watch out, it's tricky remembering to use space to select and enter to confirm. My first one, I ended up creating raid 0 devices several times and had to keep destoying them. You can only create one logical drive at a time, just select the members and then hit enter. If your hooking to an external cabinet check your dip switch settings on the controllers, the wrong settings caused one system to hang each time I tried to create the raid sets.
