Re: LUN id > 7 on VA7400 not seen on HP-UX
Vincent,
I'll swith the second controller towards HPUX as well and use the armhost command to upload a host table to specify the OS on a LUN per LUN basis.
But the second controller is not connected for the moment to a switch, so I doubt that this would cause the problems.
I'll update the thread next week.
Kurt

Re: LUN id > 7 on VA7400 not seen on HP-UX
Kurt,
My point was that although the VA will allow you to set the controllers to different OS modes, I'm pretty sure they never intended it to be run in that configuration. It may be confusing the controllers a bit, even if it isn't connected. The controllers do talk to each other.
Let us know how you make out.
Good luck!

No matter where you go, there you are.

Re: LUN id > 7 on VA7400 not seen on HP-UX
Ok,
I've followed the advise of Vincent:
-set the default OS for both controllers to HPUX
-uploaded the host table towards the VA in which I've specified the OS of the fibre cards that are connected to the VA
First I still couldn't see the LUN's with a LUN id > 7, but after a reboot of the servers they were visible. So this issue is solved.
Thanks Vincent for the assistance,
Kurt
