Latest switch compatibility with EVA5000
Hi All,
I have requirement of upgrading EVA5000 with 7 enclosure.
I don't have loop switch.
Can i use latest available switch with is 4Gbps.
If yes then what is procedure & how many required to do so.
Do i need to order additional cable for same.
Pleae advise.

Above 4 enclosures you MUST use loop-switches.
You can use Emulex 310 (283288-001) or 352 (372614-001)

Forgot to answer second part of your question.
You need 4 switches (for loops DP-1A, DP-1B, DP-2A and DP-2B). Half the enclosures (numbers below 7) will be connected to loops 1A and 1B, the other half (numbers above 8) will be connected to loops 2A and 2B.
The enclosures come with all the necessary FC and EAB cables, and installation instructions. You need to put at least a disk on each enclosure for it to be detected, and a minimum of 4 to be in a supported configuration.
You'll have to stop the EVA to change from a non-switched to a switched configuration.
