Logical Drive Rebuild Time

I replaced a 4.3 Gb Drive into a 16Gb RAID 5 Array three days ago and the logical drive is still rebuilding. Rebuild priority is set to low. Is this a normal time scale ? If I set rebuild priority to High, how will it effect the utilisation of the server ?

Re: Logical Drive Rebuild Time

rebuild time is about 20 minutes per gig. Setting the priority to low means that the rebuild will occur will system is idle. What you may have maybe a drive that is in a constant rebuild stage. I would recommend you run the acu and save that to a file and send it in to Compaq to see if you may have some drives that are causing this problem.

Re: Logical Drive Rebuild Time

You may need to upgrade the firmware on the Smart Controller and the original drives .

Re: Logical Drive Rebuild Time

I have already upgraded the Array drivers and Firmware on each of the drives. I believe the problem lies with an existing drive having exceeded its threshold for errors, therefore preventing the rebuild. Any suggestions, besides rebuild the box !
