Re: M5214 disk enclosure in EVA6100?
Yes. If you read the Q&A for the new EVAs here:
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/eva/qa.html#19
it indicates that you should be able to use the old shelves, as long as you replace the I/O modules and EMUs as you said.
Cheers,
Rob

Re: M5214 disk enclosure in EVA6100?
Take a look at this doc:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01122136/c01122136.pdf
This doesn't mention specific drive enclosures, so I'd say it's safe to assume that you can just swap out the I/O modules and EMUs in a M5214 enclosure.
Cheers,
Rob

Re: M5214 disk enclosure in EVA6100?
Yes, one can assume that it should work, but as one of my ex-colleagues always liked to say: "don't assume, you'll just make an ass out of u and me"... ;)
Does anyone have actual experience with using a new M5314C module with M5214 enclosure or can point me to a document that shows this as supported option?

SolutionBut as for your question, yes I am sure you can use the 5214 disk enclosures with the EVA6100 as long as you replace the EMU and I/O modules.
