Re: MSA 1000 vs HPUX 11.31

RISC or IA-64?

I don't think it matters too much... the details are:

For Single Controller...

MSA1000 needs to be at minimum firmware v4.48, v5.20 is recommended.
MSA1500 needs to be at minimum v5.10, v5.20 recommended.

For Dual Controller...

MSA1000 needs to be at firmware v7.00
MSA1500 needs to be at minimum v6.86, v7.00 recommended.

So, yes. There should be no support issue with HP-UX 11.31.

Hi,
yes, both versions (single controller - active/passive and dual controller - active/active) is compatible with:
HP-UX 11.31 both on PA-RISC and IA64

But according to this single controllers are not compatible:

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: MSA 1000 vs HPUX 11.31

This is according to the internal compatibility matrixes from august 2008, but I can try to check why these 2 documents - the 1 from Torsten and the "mine" are different in this ...

Notes
2/3 hub is not supported
direct connect: no boot from array
fabric: boot from array supported, msa1000 embedded 2/8 switch included
the pain is one part of the reality

My notes are from the same "internal" matrixes from 2008. (assuming IB is referring to Single Point of Connectivity Knowledge).
