SolutionThe vdisk status is critical because the drive had failed and the drive you have added is still not part of that Vdisk.and no spare drive now available for the vdisk..however it is in available mode...not yet rebuilded.
You have to initiate the reconstruction manualy by following method...
Go to Manage > Virtual Disk Config > Vdisk
Configuration > Add Vdisk Spares) or a global spare
(Manage > Virtual DiskConfig > Global Spare Menu > Add Global Spares).
Remember that a globalspare might be taken by a different critical virtual disk than the one you intended.
├в Enable the Dynamic Spare Configuration option on the
Manage > General Config> System Configuration page to use the new drives without designating them as
spares.
once the reconstruction is complete all will be back to green
Note ├в Reconstruction can take hours or days to complete, depending on the virtual
disk RAID level and size, drive speed, utility priority, and other processes running
on the storage system. You can stop reconstruction only by deleting the virtual disk

Re: MSA 2000 SA Drive Replacement
what i have seen in mnay cases that it doesnt start automatically and msa docs says that if the drive is not of same size of the disk then the reconstruction will not start....however it should start ideally ..
