MSA 30 replaces 2300?

Hi folks,
I currently have an rp5400 with 2300 disk arrays. I need more space. The 2300 is not available any more. Is the MSA 30 a suitable replacement? I want to continue to use SCSI not FC.

Bob,

Refer to the Q&A on MSA 30:

If you want to continue using SCSI, I think MSA 30 is a good choice.

Hello,

Here you can find quickspecs of MSA30 :

I think that MSA 30 is a good choice too.

Re: MSA 30 replaces 2300?

You are correct that the MSA30 is the replacement for the DS2300. It offers full U320 speed, whereas the DS2300 was limited to U160. Since you are using HP-UX, there are three models of the MSA30 to choose from. The SB (single bus) model allows one host connection to up to 14 drives. The DB (dual bus) model allows two host connections, each with up to 7 drives. The MI (multi initiator) model allows four host connections on two SCSI busses (two host connections per bus), each with up to 7 drives.

Another storage option is the DS2100 enclosure series, but those are limited to U160 speed.
