MSA 50 - RAID5 using Smart Array E500 Controller

I could not build a RAID 5 in ACU on a MSA 50 (5 X 72GB SAS). HP Tech said I need a
512MB battery backed write cache (BBWC) memory board for the ES500/256MB card. I am unsure if the part number is 383280-B21 or 378202-001.
Any clarifications on proper part number?

Re: MSA 50 - RAID5 using Smart Array E500 Controller

Thanks.
So does 383280-B21 upgrade the ES-500 from 256MB to 512 MB, so that I can do RAID5?

Re: MSA 50 - RAID5 using Smart Array E500 Controller

here is the Configuring arrays on HP Smart array controllers reference guide:
http://bizsupport.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00729544/c00729544.pdf

in which all the operations like
extending the array/migrating the RAID level or stripe size has the mandatory step of confirming that the cache is cache battery is connected and fully charged (not to loose the data in case of the power failure during the operation)
see e.g. the pages 16-17
