I am configuring a MSA 500 G2 with a 2 DL380 G4 in a cluster. A high availbility kit was ordered that came with the 4 port IO card for the MSA and 2 642 Adapters.
WHat is the optimal configuration for this setup? Would you connect the each scsi cables to the 642 and the 6i external connector for reduncacy or would it better to have 2 642 adapters in each server and not use the 6i? Also, is it a supported configuration to use the 6i and 642 to multipath?
Thanks for any advice

Hi Steve,
The good idea would be using the 2 port available on the 642 of each of the controllers. I mean Install the 642s in each of the DL380 servers and there would be 2 paths going from each 642 to the MSA 500G2. You also need to install Smart Array Multipath Software so that only 1 path is active at a time and other would be passive.
