MSA1000 - Cluster MSCS

Hi,

I need advice for this configuration:
- MSA1000 with 2 controllers and 2 switch 2/8
- 2 DL360 with 1 FC2214 each
- MSCS Cluster between the 2 servers

1 server will be connected to each switch.
If one server's HBA failovers, the cluster will switch to the other node.
Will the MSA switch to other controller in this configuration if cluster failovers ?
I'm not sure ...

Thanks for your ideas.

Re: MSA1000 - Cluster MSCS

Sorry, that WILL NOT WORK!!

On the MSA1000, only one controller can do I/O, so all hosts must be connected to that controller. For full redundancy, each host must have TWO fibre channel adapter ports.

That config would ok with active/active controller, right ?

Re: MSA1000 - Cluster MSCS

Honestly, nobody knows. Active/Active is not there for the MSA1000.

I would not be surprised if it were not "supported", because nobody tests it. Also, it could be that somebody tests it, finds problems which nobody wants to fix, so it remains unsupported. Sometimes, project roadmaps get changed in the last minute before it gets shipped out of the door.
