MSA1000 driver

MSA1000 driver

I have an MSA1000 attached to a DL380G4 via 2 QLA2300 FC HBA's on Windows 2003 Enterprise SP2.

Windows Device Manager shows 2 instances of HP MSA CONTROLLER SCSI Array Device in Other devices.

Is there a specific device driver that I need to install?

Re: MSA1000 driver

No device driver needed - just a small .INF file for Windows so that it can put it at the proper place in device manager. It used to be part of HP's FC-Driver bundle CPxxxxxx.exe
.

Re: MSA1000 driver

Yes I thought that was included with the HBA driver. I've not been able to track it down though.

Re: MSA1000 driver

What package did you use for the driver installation?

Re: MSA1000 driver

I've tried several now.

SCSIport Driver Component for Qlogic-based HBAs and Mezzanine HBAs 9.1.0.13

SCSIport Driver Component for Qlogic-based HBAs and Mezzanine HBAs 9.1.3.11

Windows Driver Smart Component [Storport] for HP Branded Qlogic FC HBAs and Qlogic-based FC Mezzanine HBAs. 9.1.7.17

I have the MPIO DSM for MSA installed. Perhaps I need a Full MPIO DSM?

Re: MSA1000 driver

No, as far as I can tell, the MPIO package has never included the INF file. It depends on the MSA's firmware whether you need the basic or the full-featured one. If it works for you now, please don't make experiments by swapping the DSM.

No offense meant:
did you simply run the CPxxxxxxx.exe
or have you tried to be 'creative' by unpacking the file and doing a manual installation?
