MSA1500cs and array config utility 7.50.23
I have a ProLiant DL360 G3 server (Windows 2003 Server Standard with SP1) connected to an MSA1500cs with 8 MSA20 enclosures with 96 250GB SATA disks via a Storageworks 4/8 SAN Switch.
The server is basically a bridgehead for the Veritas Replication Exec software which we use to replicate data over a DS-3 WAN link. I just recently rebuilt the server from the ground up with all the latest firmware, drivers, etc and using the latest MSA1500 Support CD. I have also flashed the MSA1500 and MSA20s with the latest firmware available (5.02 and 1.48 active/passive). I am having a helluva time with the ACU. I can create an array of disks and then create a logical drive from those disks, but everytime I click Save, it locks up. I have let it sit there for 30 minutes or more and it does nothing. I have to reboot the server and then, when I open ACU, it doesn't show the MSA1500 controller. I have to then reboot the MSA1500 controller and then it will connect to ACU. This is very frustrating. I am using remote desktop to access the DL360 and running ACU locally from there. There is a single zone containing the single MSA1500 controller and the single HBA of the DL360. Discussions about non-redundancy aside, what gives?
