MSA2012i and ISCSI

Hi.

One of my customers has a MSA2021i and he ask if there is the possibility to use a raid5 volume defined on it using ISCSI across 2 different host machines.
They tried to do this and the result was the corruption of the NTFS table of allocation on the volume. The 2 host machine are W2003 R2.
I include the log and the conf of the equipment used.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards

Re: MSA2012i and ISCSI

hi,

you can only share volumes with some kind of cluster or shared (e.g polyserve) file system in place. with windows clustering only one of the systems has control of the volume anyway.if you do not have a shared file system coordinating the locks on data on the volumes you will end up with corruption on the volumes as you have seen.

check out polyserve on the hp site or have a look at windows clustering - whichever suits your purpose best in this case.
