MSA500 G2 support two 2-node clusters ?

Hi,
Customer has a MSA500 G2 with 4-port module and a multipath 2-node cluster. They want to share MSA500 with one more cluster.
I think there's no reason that it can't be done. But because I have not installed 2 clusters yet, I need an HP document to prove that.

I found this document : "My First SAN Guide to selling MSA Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions". It say that MSA500 G2 supports up to 2 clusters.

So what do you think? Do you ever set up a two 2-node clusters with MSA500 G2 ?

Thanks

Re: MSA500 G2 support two 2-node clusters ?

Hi Hanh,

It can support 2 clusters, however, they would not be multipath for redundancy. Since they now have one cluster with multiple paths all 4 ports would be used.

So the customer would need to make each of the 4 Nodes to only have a single connection.

Hope that helps.
