MSA60 + P800 with multiple arrays performance
Hello,
we are having some performance issues with our setup.
We have a DL360 G5 server with 2x X5450 and 56 GB RAM connected with a P800 Smart Array 512 Mb cache and a MSA60 with 1x mini SAS cable.
On the MSA60 we have this setup:
2x SATA 2 7200 1 TB in RAID1
2x SATA 2 7200 1 TB in RAID1
2x SATA2 7200 500 GB in RAID1
2x 450 GB 15k SAS in RAID 1
2x 450 GB 15k SAS in RAID 1
1x SATA 2 7200 1 TB in RAID 0
So we have 6 arrays for 11 drives which is much, i know, but since the disks were added afterwards.
What i want to know - could the number of arrays affect the performance of our virtual servers (esxi 4.1 with about 8 guests on these drives) . We are getting high i/o wait on some of our drives and cannot find a reason.
We are planning to make 2 arrays out of this (replacing some drives and doing 6x SATA2 in RAID 10 and 4x SAS in RAID 10) but before we do this i'd like to know if its even theoretically possible that this is our issue.
Thanks
