Matching disks to LUNS on va7400

Trying to free space on the array for needed growth. I want to remove an unused VG that is associated with 2 disks and 2 LUNs, remove the LUN and recreate/reallocate new luns and spcae to different VGs

I have misplaced the docs that tell me which LUN is which disk. How can I match a disk to a LUN? ie: c3t4d0 =LUN 30

thanks,

Re: Matching disks to LUNS on va7400

lssf /dev/dsk/c3t4d0

lssf shows all the driver characteristics for a device file.

Re: Matching disks to LUNS on va7400

Hmm.. I need more info than that...
The lssf gives me complete information but I am looking for a way to match the lssf output to the output from the array.

Maybe there is a command from array side that might give the info?

lssf gives me:
sdisk card instance 3 SCSI target 4 SCSI LUN 0 section 0 at address 0/4/0/0.8.0.108.0.4.0 /dev/dsk/c3t4d0

the array output from armdsp -L 50060b0000092bdd gives me:

LUN 30:
Redundancy Group:_____________________1
Active:_______________________________True
Data Capacity:________________________64 GB
WWN:__________________________________60060b0000092bdd001e000000000038
Number Of Business Copies:____________0

LUN 31:
Redundancy Group:_____________________2
Active:_______________________________True
Data Capacity:________________________64 GB
WWN:__________________________________60060b0000092bdd001f000000000039
Number Of Business Copies:____________0

LUN 32:
Redundancy Group:_____________________1
Active:_______________________________True
Data Capacity:________________________64 GB
WWN:__________________________________60060b0000092bdd002000000000003a
Number Of Business Copies:____________0

LUN 33:
Redundancy Group:_____________________2
Active:_______________________________True
Data Capacity:________________________64 GB
WWN:__________________________________60060b0000092bdd002100000000003b
Number Of Business Copies:____________0

Re: Matching disks to LUNS on va7400

Have a look at the armtopology command.

# man armtopology for details.

Basic syntax is:

# armtopology hostname

Re: Matching disks to LUNS on va7400

That's the ticket, armtopology.

Thanks for the quick response

Re: Matching disks to LUNS on va7400

Guess I need more help with armtopology. All I can get as a response is the original 29 LUNS, that were created before a new drawer was added a year ago. only the first 29 LUNS show up out of 94.

I am assuming I need the array to re-read the configuration.

Re: Matching disks to LUNS on va7400

Found the armdiscover command which after running, found all the LUNs.

Thanks again all for your help.
