Maximum # of ESX hosts that can access an EVA5000 LUN

We are using VMWare ESX to host a large number of virtual servers. The current configuration exists of 3 ESX servers that can simultanuously access the virtual disks on which the virtual servers are located.

I would like to know the maximum number of ESX servers that are able to access a virtual disk on the EVA5000.

Hi Rene,

It all depends on your configuration and the type of OS your using.

For example, We have 8 blades & ml370 running ESX 2.5 going through 2x 32port(for failover) switches to an EVA 5000. Those Physical servers host currently 13 virtual servers (W2K)in production & 10 in development. THose attach to 9 Virtual disks (3x OS) (5x Data) (1x DMZ Data).
Each of those virtual servers attach to multiple Vdisks.

So as I said before it depends on your configuration & what your trying to achieve.

I hope that helps you..
