Migrate from 2/E to 2/DH ?
Hello -
I have a Proliant 4000 with a Smart 2/E controller attached to an external F1 storage cabinet. The 2/E is configured Raid 5 with warm spare. The cabinet contains 4 - 9.1 GB drives. My question is in two parts:
1. Can I remove the warm spare without destroying the data ?
2. If I can remove the warm spare without destroying the data , can I then insert the remaining three drives into a Proliant 1850R with a Smart-2DH controller without destroying the data ?

Re: Migrate from 2/E to 2/DH ?
Yes, you will be able to move the drives from the 2E to the 2DH controller without loosing data. You will be able to remove the spare drive as well. Just as a precaution, make sure you backup all data on all of the drives before moving them.
Have a nice day,
Mike
