Mix HDD with different capacity into Storageworks 2300
Hi All,
Is it possible to mix hard disk with different capacity in one Hp StorageWorks 2300 Disk System?
We have 6 existing 36GB disks installed in our 2300. There are still 8 slots available. We have spare 2 18GB disks. I want to install this of it is possible.
Thanks.
Karl

Re: Mix HDD with different capacity into Storageworks 2300
This JBOD is connected to a SCSI adaptor or a RAID adaptor?
If it's SCSI adaptor, and if you have combatible disks you can connect it.
If it's RAID, (E.g .Internal RAID4Si) then adding disks with lower capacity doesn't make sense. You may add and create new RAID volume (say RAID1) if supported by adaptor.

Hi Karl,
Yes you can attach the disks of any sizes but the interface type should be same. Moreover you need to configure your new disks it depends wheather you are using Raid controller or a normal SCSI controller.
