Moving Logical Disks from Array Controllers

We have a Compaq 5500R with three 3200 Array Controllers installed. We are investigating possible Array saturation issues on the array controller in Slot 5 (PCI Bus 2) Channel 2. We would like to move the Disks (RAID 5) off of the Slot 5 array controller and move it to the 3200 controller in Slot 4/Channel 2 to ascertain whether or not there is any performance improvement. I would think moving an array of disks from one 3200 controller to another would be a simple task, but want to verify that this can be accomplished without any major risk of data loss. Does anyone know if this is possible and what steps need to be taken in order to complete this? Of course we'll have a full backup before we begin:)

Re: Moving Logical Disks from Array Controllers

The 3200 controller should have no problem recognizing the existing config of those drives. When you move them, you will have to update the setup of both controllers involved. On their new home - just confirm that you want to keep the configuration intact, and the old one just needs their removal confirmed...
