Re: Moving Vdisks to new Disk Group

You can't move vdisks to the new disk group unless you have Business Copy License. This allows you to create vdisks clones in other disk groups.

Re: Moving Vdisks to new Disk Group

As Ivan said, it's not possible to move. Even though you use Business copy, you will incur the downtime on the disk to dismount and remount the new on. Better way is to present a new drive of 300GB from new diskgroup and use the host based copy to migrate the data. Once copied, unmount/de-allocate the Vdisk and use the new one.

What is that 16GB drive? No such disk drive exists.

Re: Moving Vdisks to new Disk Group

Hello,

you can also try a host-based mirror to copy the data. Just create a Vdisk with the same size in the new DG and present this LUN to the host. Then mirror the existing Vdisk to the new created Vdisk. When the mirror is finished, break it.

Kind regards,
Patrick

Re: Moving Vdisks to new Disk Group

Hi,

Why didn't you add the 300GB disk drives into your existing group...?

Drive sizes in a group don't have to be the same...

Cheers,

Rob

Re: Moving Vdisks to new Disk Group

Tks for replies

that 16Gb should be 146 Gb ,

Ignorance didn't think you could mix disk sizes

We have business copy so, may move non essential disks to give me space on origional group.
