Moving from onboard SCSI in an 1850R to the 431

I have an 1850R. It is currenly running one 9.1 GB drive from the onboard controller. I need to install a 431 array controller, move the drive to that controller and have it setup for mirroring. Is this possible or is it going to be the same fate as the Upgrading from SCSI to 431 post?

My idea was to backup the 9.1 GB, verify the backup works, then install the new controller, set up 2 new drives as raid 1. Lastly put the 9.1gb drive in the 1st slot and let the server rebuild the mirror.

Thanks for your time.

Unfortunately you will have to restore from backup. When you go from a scsi controller with no raid support to a smart array controller it will not see any data on that drive.
We are here for a good time, not a long time!
