NetRAID 1M & TC4100

Hi,

I have a TC4100 with 3 x 36Gb and 3 x 73Gb HDD in a 2 RAID 5 array's. I want to add 1 x 73Gb to the 2nd array to increase the available space.

Is this something I can do on the fly or do I need to use the utilities at start up? And if so do I View/Add configuration, recreate etc?

This is a DR server, so the data can be restored from tape but would rather not have to restore 100gb from multiple DLT ;-)

thanks

Hayden

Hi Hayden,

Yes you can add the 73GB drive on the fly and add it to the 2nd array.
If you're running Windows you need Netraid Assistant to drag 'm drop the drive to the array.
This only works if you have 1 logical drive on your array.

Re: NetRAID 1M & TC4100

Thanks Marco

I may need to re-install netraid assistant as it is telling me "cannot connect server" but once I have I will give youur suggestion a go

There are 2 arrays in the server (dual channel controller) but this array has 1 logical drive only

Re: NetRAID 1M & TC4100

Hi

I've tried a re-install but it cannot connect to the local server

Before I resign myslef to a rebuild, is the anyhing in the startup tools (Ctrl-M) that can allow me to extend the array?

Much obliged
