New hardware added to SureStore

Hi All

One of our servers has an HP SureStore array. I think the HP engineer just came and put the disks in and left, hence I cannot see them in sam. There is currently 1 LUN and I want to create a second LUN utilising these new 8 disks. Any ideas?

try:
ioscan -fnC disk
(wait)
then
insf -eC disk
then
ioscan -fnkC disk

Later,
Bill
It works for me (tm)

Re: New hardware added to SureStore

How are they connected, with a HBA card A5158A or something similar. Make sure that you have the appropriate driver for it loaded. If you don't have it, you can get from http://www.software.hp.com
Anyone for a Mutiny ?

Re: New hardware added to SureStore

Hi Bill & Michael

Thanks heaps for your quick responses, they were appreciated. We ended up using cvui to create a new LUN. Ran into a small problem in that we originally created the LUN with 147GB, then when i tried to create a new vg, the LUN was too large, so we reduced the size of the LUN to 120GB then I created a new vg and allocated the entire 120GB to it and all is fine.

Thanks
