May I exchange a failed A3240A 2G disk module in A3231A array with A3396A 4G disk? Some docs state that A3396A can be installed only in model 20.
Thanks

Solution
Hello,
Yes you can install it in model 10.
The difference which might be possible between the model 10 and model 20 is the SP. Model 10 supports only the SP (Sauna) board, whereas the model 20 supports the Sauna and the SP620 (Phoenix).
The A3396A is the half-height version. This requires a minimum of Revision 7.16 and PROM code 7.97 for it to work on the Nike 10.
BUT...
You CANNOT replace a failed disk with a higher-spec disk on the Nike 10 (or 20). You have to replace it with a disk of SAME SIZE and created by the SAME MANUFACTURER. So if the failed disk is A3240A, replace it by an A3240A disk, nothing else.
On a new setup, though, your Nike 10 would accept the A3396A if it has the above PROM code and version on your SP.
HTH,
Vince
