No RAID-Level Migration on MSA 2312i ?
Hi,
is it possible to migrate a RAID on a MSA2312i ?
E.g. from 2 Disk RAID-1 to RAID-5 or RAID-10 or RAID-5 to RAID-6 ?
I'm trying to do so on a fresh MSA2312i with FW M111R06-7 and can't select any Drives via "Expand Disk".
"Expand Vdisk" via CLI just gave me:
# expand vdisk
DESCRIPTION
Adds disks to a vdisk. The expansion capability for each supported RAID level
is:
RAID Level Expansion Capability Max. Disks
---------- -------------------- ----------
Non-RAID Cannot expand. 1
0, 3, 5, 6 You can add 1-4 disks at a time. 16
1 Cannot expand. 2
10 Can add 2 or 4 disks at a time. 16
50 Can expand the vdisk one RAID-5 sub-vdisk at a 32
time. The added RAID-5 sub-vdisk must contain the
same number of disks as each original sub-vdisk.
My config is very Simple: 2 Disks in RAID-1, 3 free, fresh Disks available. No Volumes configured so far.
Just saw this Thread (about MSA2000 non-R2):
http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1270752 .
Is this the same for the G2&P2000 ( + any other Versions like fc or sas) ?
