Operating in Interim Recovery Mode

Interim Recovery mode, waiting for ID 4 to be replaced. No matter what drive I stick in there, it's instantly switched to failed state. The replacement drives are good. I can move them to another machine and create an array and all is good. Why can't I get the 2P to accept it's replacement drive?!?!!

Did you every determine the fix for this? I have exactly the same situation.
