P2000G2 disk firmware update problem
Hello
I have a MSA2324fc (G2) filled with 24 300GB disks. It is connected to a fiber switch, and is used only to vmware.
Now I am trying to update the firmware on the disks. Controller-firmwareupdate went smooth as silk(Via HP P2000 firmware update tool).
When I try to update the disks via webmanagement(the controller) I get the error: Not Capable of updating the disk at enclosure =1, slot=1. ***Firmware update failed***
I tried using both an .frm and an .scexe, nothing works.
Please, can anybody tell me what to do?

Re: P2000G2 disk firmware update problem
Try this - disabling email notification on MSA during disk firmware update:
To disable the email notification:
Tools , Email Notification , Notification level: none

Re: P2000G2 disk firmware update problem
Disabling email will not solve this ;-)
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: P2000G2 disk firmware update problem
There are "critical" updates for some SAS drives available, but we still don't know the disk drive in question in this thread ...
Please tell the disk model name!
This example is for P4000, but there are similar advisories for all systems using SAS disks:
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
