is 512Meg BBWC necessary for this? i thought i had added BBWC when we first set up the machine, but i only see 256M in the cache properties. are there two versions of BBWC?
thanks to all

Re: P400 migrating raid 0 to raid 1
yes, a BBWC is needed to do this online. The controller is delivered with cache, but not with a BBWC module. You can add only the BBWC module to you controller, or replace the 256 MB cache module with a 512 MB module and a BBWC module.
In your case it would be sufficient to add a BBWC to it.

Re: P400 migrating raid 0 to raid 1
Array Accelerator Present True
Cache Status OK
Array Accelerator (Cache) Ratio 25% Read / 75% Write
Total Cache Size 256 MB
Cache Backup Power Source Batteries
Battery/Capacitor Pack Count 1
Battery/Capacitor Status OK
it says i have 256 and that the battery is ok. should i be able to do the raid 0 -> raid 1 migration? or do i need to upgrade the cache to 512? i don't see the ACU choice ONLINE or OFFLINE?
should it be a single wizard selection or are there a series of steps?
thanks again

Re: P400 migrating raid 0 to raid 1
you're right, you got a BBWC. So it should be possible.
You have to expand the array with the new physical disk. After the expansion of the array, you can migrate the logical drive from RAID 0 to RAID 1+0.

Patrick

Re: P400 migrating raid 0 to raid 1
AFAIK this is not configurable. SAs boot only from the first logical drive.
