P410i Smart Array Raid Config
I just received a number of Proliant DL380 G6 with the P410i smart array and 146GB 3G SAS drives. I would like to config 5 drives in a RAID 5 configuration but the Array Utility, ORCA rev 8.30.06.00 shows only a RAID 1+0 or RAID 0 option. How do I set up these drives for RAID 5 using ORCA.

Re: P410i Smart Array Raid Config
You probably got the low end controller. This doesn't support raid 5. you need to buy the bbwc add on module.

Re: P410i Smart Array Raid Config
Hi
In this link (http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/arraycontrollers/smartarrayp410/index.html)
as HP said P410 supports 0,1, 1+0, 5, 5+0 standard; RAID 6 , and thats totally right, because i had not any probelm on previous Bios Version.
But this time I've bought a brand new HP DL 380 G6 and only Raid 0 and 0+1 .This is my version 8.30.06.00

Re: P410i Smart Array Raid Config
I hope the server BBWC shipped with 64MB Cache. In such case the controller only supports RAID 0 and RAID1. If you want to achieve RAID5, RAID6 then you should have higher BBWC like 128MB/256MB.
