Power shutdown on SureStore E Disk Array 12H

Hi,

We are planning on a power shutdown to our
Disk Array SureStore E 12H that is attached
to 2 L2000's HP-UX 11.0 running MC/SG as a
two node cluster. The 2 L2000's will be powered
off as well. Basically the whole rack containing all of the CPU's and Peripheral
devices will be shutdown and powered off.

Question, has anyone had any issues/problems with a complete power shutdown on something like this?

Thank you in advance.
Gino

Sure. Get a good backup *before* you do it, particularly if the equipment is at all old. Disk drives in motion tend to stay in motion, disk drives at rest tend never to start again.

Generally speaking, no problem if you perform "shutdown" on the front panel and turn off AutoRAID.
But I saw this accident before.
After power recycling AutoRAID, two disk module went down at the same time and all the data on AutoRAID was disappeared.
So you might want to make a good backup before doing your job.
Never say "no" first.
