Powerpath and MPIO DSM coexistence

Can anyone tell me if I can run EMC's Powerpath for an iSCSI array simultaneously with MPIO DSM for an EVA 6000 and present LUN's from each?

I have a situation where a single path wont work.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Powerpath and MPIO DSM coexistence

Hi,
iSCSI and FC have the different communication drivers/layer:
FC SAN storage has SecurePath/Autopath, MPIO, MPxIO, etc.
iSCSI has inititators and targets

For SAN storage coexistences I am sending you the EMC/DELL doc for UNIX. (PowerPath/PVlinks, etc.):
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/stor-sys/powerpth/version3/ppuiag30.pdf

Maybe something very similar exists also for Windows on EMC Powerlink/forums
the pain is one part of the reality

Ahem... FCP uses inititators and targets, too.
And the Microsoft iSCSI uses the MPIO framework, too.
The differences are only in the very low layers, so the question is absolutely justified.
Sorry, I can't answer the question.

Re: Powerpath and MPIO DSM coexistence

The question in part was prompted by a bad experience with the the MPX100 iSCSI gateway.

If you install the MPIO DSM FF for an EVA instead of the MPIO that comes with the MPX kit - BSD city!
