Problem with EMU module on disk enclosure (EVA8000)

Hello all,
I have problem with disk enclosure EVA8000,
one of the four enclosures is not working properly. EMU alphanumeric display shows "00", then pause 20 seconds and shows "2.1" and beeps (one long beep and 5 short beep).
LEDs on the EMU show the normal (flashing-green -- green -- off). All cables work.
What is it?!!
Thanks in advance.

Torsten, enclosure are not visible, but disks from this enclosure placed in to unmappable hardware and work normally.
event log does not show errors.

In a host you can see the disk on the EVA8000? read or write is working properly?

Affirm EAB Cable connect first.

Yes, they work.
EAB cable and all others cables is working, I checked them on other enclosure.

I understand that "00" it is problem EMU connections, bat I don't understand that such "2.1".

Re: Problem with EMU module on disk enclosure (EVA8000)

I would start with re-seating the EMU module.

Hope this helps!

Re: Problem with EMU module on disk enclosure (EVA8000)

Hi,
You should get the fault code from the emu to help. It is a SIX digit code. 2.1 is not enough.
To do this make sure the EMU readout says "Er" if not press and release the BOTTOM button till it does.
When you have Er press and HOLD the TOP button till you get a two digit number. Something like 0.4. for example. The . are important. Make a note of this code. Now press and release the TOP button and you will get the next two digits maybe 12. Now do the same again for the third pair of digits 00.
You should now end up with a six digit code for example 0.2. 01. 00
Post this and it can be decoded for you or look in the user guide if you have one.

Re: Problem with EMU module on disk enclosure (EVA8000)

Hi,
Oh yes Unmappable h/w is normally an EAB/CAN related problem so check EMU, EAB EMU cable, Termination of EAB - both ends - segmnets are all plugged to gether properly. If you do find a problem it can take a lonnng time for this event to go away in CV once fixed so check the above and then leave at least 30mins to see if resolved.

Re: Problem with EMU module on disk enclosure (EVA8000)

Mark, thanks are final, but I will repeat:
"LEDs on the EMU show the normal (flashing-green -- green -- off). All cables work."
---
"EAB cable and all others cables is working, I checked them on other enclosure."
---
And alphanumeric display don't show "Er".
Only "00" and "2.1".
