My Configuration:
DL360p Gen 8 w/ Windows Server 2012 R2 + MPIO + HP SPP 2014.09.0(9 SEP 2014)
P431 Controller
2 x 1m Mini-SAS HD 4x to Mini-SAS HD 4x cables
MSA 2040 SFF w/ Dual SAS Controllers
Problem:
Cables are connected but MSA 2040 shows all SAS connections disconnected
P431 shows no drives connected on boot
Query:
Any suggested solutions?
Is anyone using a similar configuration successfully?

SolutionFinally figured out what the issue was.
The Mini-SAS HD 4x connectors on the server end were plugged in upside down. Appeared to be fully seated but discovered that they were not latched. Turned them over and as soon as they latched in, the link light on the MSA 2040 SAS controller came on and server can now see the LUN provided by the shared array.
