Proliant 5500 Smart Array 3200
I just received a Proliant 5500 with a Smart Array 3200. The system has been wiped clean so no software or logical drives exist. I want to load Windows 2000 Server on this Server but it tells me I have to Run The Array Configuration Utility. I do not have the SmartStart cd's nothing came with the server but the server. How do I run the ACU and where do I find the right one? I have found many on HP's site but they all required the OS already. Also called HP and they said the contract just ended and would not help. Thanks for any help.

Re: Proliant 5500 Smart Array 3200
You can install the OS without the SmartStart, using a manual install.
The necessary components can be gathered from the following locations :
Sys Erase - Compaq System Erase Utility
Download: http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/locate/2543.html
SCU - Compaq System Configuration Utility
Download: http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/locate/1950.html
Note: You should always use the latest version of SCU as possible. SCU is the glue that holds all the pieces together and therefore should not be older than any System ROM or Option ROM in the system.
Diags - Compaq Server Diagnostics
Download: http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/locate/1939.html
ACU - Compaq Array Configuration Utility
Download: Compaq Array Configuration Utility XE for Red Hat Linux (ACU) http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/locate/3331.html
Download: Compaq Array Configuration Utility 1.20B (SP6263.exe) README ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp6001-6500/SP6263.TXT
EXECUTABLE ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp6001-6500/SP6263.exe
Download: Compaq Array Configuration Utility 1.20A (SP6262.exe) README ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp6001-6500/SP6262.TXT
EXECUTABLE ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp6001-6500/SP6262.exe
The following tasks will need to be performed:
Erase the server with Compaq System Erase Utility (Sys Erase)
Boot from the created diskettes.
Configure the Server Hardware using Compaq System Configuration Utility (SCU).
Boot from the created diskettes.
Configure any Array Controllers (ACU)(1)
Also, Boot from the created diskettes.
Install the Compaq F10 System Partition
Boot on the SCU diskette #1 and select "Create System Partition" in order to begin installing the Compaq F10 System Partition. After the partition is created and the system reboots, you will need to boot back to diskette #1. SCU should automatically begin copying files, if it does not begin copying files, then you may need to choose "Upgrade System Partition". Choose to install SCU and Compaq Server Diagnostics.
