Questions about DS2300

Hi

I have a L1000 Box (hpux 11.00), SC10 connected with 2 A5149A SCSI Controller and a DS2300 (14 disks) connected with 1 A6828A SCSI Controller.
I want to install another A6828A SCSI Controller and second Controller in
DS2300 (A6491A).
Questions:
what is the best configuration in DS2300 with 2 controllers?
The original configuration works fine with 2 controllers?
must I do a backup and restore all data in DS2300?

Thanks in advance. Jorge

Re: Questions about DS2300

See this manual: http://h200005.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/lpg29283/lpg29283.pdf

It describes your options. You can split the bus so that you have 7 drives on one bus and 7 on the other, or you can leave them all on the same bus.

Since you're using the DS2300 with a single host, I think you want to split the bus.

If you split the bus, you'll have to reconfigure the drives (they will be changing location...) so a backup/restore will be required. (unless someone here can come up with a clever way of doing it without the backup/restore - but I can't think of any).

Cheers,

Vince

Re: Questions about DS2300

Thanks Vincent

I understand the situation, but I still have a doubt:
now all the disks works with one BCC, When I plugged the second BCC, It will works for redundancy mode, Do I need to do anything else?

In this situation, do I need to restore data?
