Questions about StorageWorks D2700 Disk Enclosure
Hi Guys,
1. is it possible to connect several D2700 together? For example I can cascade several MSA70 (4) and then connect them to one external port of P800
is it possible with d2700?
2. Is it possible to connect 2 different physical servers to D2700 simultaneously?
3. What you recommend to get Maximum of D2700? What controller should be used? I assume P812 is the best choice?
Thanks,
Dmitry

Re: Questions about StorageWorks D2700 Disk Enclosure
Hey, see the quickspecs:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13404_div/13404_div.html
1.
Cascading - The D2700 has the unique capability of cascading up to two (2) enclosures behind a single SAS port (depends on the Smart Array Controller). The D2600 has the capability of cascading up to four (4) enclosures behind a single SAS port (depends on the Smart Array Controller).
You may want to check out what HP calls Dual Domain as well.
2.
Doesn't say in the quickspecs, but I don't see why that shouldn't work.
3.
Well the P812 is the "biggest", as it has the 1GB cache on it.
