RA4100 on HPUX
I've been experimenting with using an RA4100 with Fibre Channel on a non Windows / Intel environment.
I attached the RA4100 unconfigured to a RP3440 running HP/UX 11.11 and expected to see A JBOD configuration. The Fibre channel comes up as attached in private loop mode but no disks can be seen.
I then attached the RA4100 to a Windows 2003 server and configured a RAID 5 Array, hoping to see the RAID 5 array. Alas still nothing when I re-attached to the RP3440.
Can anyone confirm if this is at all supported or not as I suspect is the case.

Re: RA4100 on HPUX
The RA4100 is not a JBOD - it is a SmartArray based Fibre Channel RAID array! I beleive the RA4100 has a rather 'strange' LUN mapping which is incompatible with HP-UX - I don't recall it was ever supported with HP-UX and don't think it will ever be.

Re: RA4100 on HPUX
Hi Sean,
The RA4100 is not supported for use with HP-UX systems, It is only support for use with Windows and Netware systems
