Hi,

Will there be any impact if I were to add on hard disk and expand the array online? Will data be lost?

I wish I could say 100% yes, but I've never seen or experienced a problem. Heck, even PHD's loose spacecraft due to human error.

Always have a fresh backup, when performing any operations on your data.

The first thing I would do is set the expansion priority to high. Perform your expansion.

Hi,

it is always better to have a backup.
Expanding the array does not effect the OS.
But do NOT expand logical drives. Until now HP-UX 11.11/23 is not able to handle this.
Doing so is a waste of disk space. You have to create new logical drives and add them to your VG configuration.

Appreciate your answers and thanks for your help.

But I wasn't able to find any documentation to show that the method is not supported.
